About “The Greatest Commentary Team in Professional Wrestling”
“The Doctor of Professional Wrestling” Mike Blankenship, Ph.D. and “The Excellence of Elocution” Walter Dixon are not just a commentary team — they are a lifelong brotherhood built on passion, precision, and an unshakable love for the sport.
Growing up only miles apart in Pike County, Kentucky, Mike and Walter spent their childhood doing what would one day become their destiny: watching professional wrestling with absolute devotion and “calling matches” from their living rooms long before either man ever touched a broadcast headset. What began as two kids imitating their heroes evolved into a bond that shaped their lives. Even into adulthood, they reunited time and time again to “cuss and discuss” the greatest moments in wrestling history.
Their professional journey began in October 2023 with Wildfire Championship Wrestling, where they quickly became the defining voices of the promotion as its official commentary team. Their sharp analysis, humor, storytelling, and unmatched chemistry elevated every match they touched. When Wildfire went AWOL in April 2024, the duo didn’t disappear — they adapted, evolved, and rose even higher.
In June 2024, Mike and Walter helped found Elevate Pro Wrestling, a promotion built on passion, integrity, and the belief that independent wrestling deserved a platform that honored its past while pushing its future forward. Their commentary became the heartbeat of EPW — a blend of academic insight, Appalachian grit, and a level of elocution that made every moment feel monumental.
Their influence expanded even further with the launch of their weekly podcast and YouTube channel, “Cussin’ & Discussin’.” Fans from across the globe — the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Brazil, Türkiye, Germany, Egypt, Kenya, the Philippines, Colombia, Venezuela, Jordan, Iraq, Australia, Japan, and many more — tune in weekly to hear their unfiltered takes, deep dives, and signature banter.
Today, Mike and Walter also serve as the official commentary team of Aftermath Pro Wrestling in Coal Grove, Ohio. Whether behind the desk at EPW or calling the action for Aftermath Pro, they continue to raise the bar for what professional wrestling commentary can be.
